What's the best way to figure out how much weight I should be lifting for a large amount of reps?

My training program starts today and I would like to know how much weight I should use for 20 reps working my shoulders/tris/biceps etc. Thanks!

Well that is a hard question to answer because it is different for everyone. I would say take a rather light weight cause the 20 reps is a warmup set and not a working set. Then for the next few weeks stay light increasing the weights slowly. Hope this helps!

We have no way of knowing what your strength is. Strength is decieving by looks sometimes. I have seen some guys who look like they could lift the world not be able to do much, and others who look fairly lean be very strong. You will have to experiment. Start with a weight you feel comfortable with. Your first set of 20 is simply a warmup set. this should be quite easy. If you do 20 reps with the weight you choose here very easily, then for your working sets move up a bit. Do your next set, if you can get all the required reps with that weight also, move up for the next set, and so on. When you fail to get all the reps, back off a bit, and you probably have found your weight. Hope this helps....
