How Quickly Should I Up My Weight Used?

So, I got 2 dumbells last week. Seeing as how I haven't done any weight bearing exersizes other than lifting children for the past 4 years, I got 2lb-ers. Now, I am only on day 2 of my program(one from here on FT) but I am already thinking I may need to go get 3lb-ers or even 5lbs-ers, and I made it through all the chest/bicep sets today with no problem at all. Should I go ahead and get heavier dumbells tomorrow, or wait until next week and see if it is more difficult on some of the other exersizes?

One the weight is no longer giving resistance on the last three repetitions, it's time to increase.
