When you first start on the excercise routine given by FT, how should i figure what weights to use for each individual excercise? I remember in high school that we would determine our total max weight and than was given a workout weight for each week that would help us to increase total weight by the end.

shanecon, Its a trial and error thing. You want to start with lighter weights in the first couple of sets for warm up. Then up the waight on the last 2. On the last set you should be barely able to finish.

Increase the weight as you can. When you can complete the last set, its time to move up. Make sense??

Welcome to FT and good luck.

ok, what should my light weight start at? I dont want to start off, let's say with bench @ 125 lbs, if i am going to be unable to finish the reps. and than have to decrease my weight for the last 3 sets.

Thats the experimenting part. Everybody is different. Try and try again...you'll get it.
