I'm trying to build mass and burn fat. Would rye bread fit into my diet properly, or is it something to be avoided?
I generally don't consume bread anymore, but if rye is a good choice as a carbohydrate maybe I'll start incorporating it as a lunch with some fresh turkey breast.
I've looked it up on the food search but it doesn't really tell me whether or not it's a 'good' carb. I notice on the grocery list that bb1fit posted that rye cereal is a good option, so it got me wondering about bread.
True rye bread is good....if it fits into your calorie scheme or not is the issue. Breads are usually fairly calorie dense, and one slice for instance can take away 100 calories on the average or more, 2 slices and well....

What do you mean by 'true' rye bread? I've checked out the ingredient list of every type of rye bread available at the grocery store and they all start off with 'unbleached wheat flour'... so I'm guessing those aren't so good?
I'm guessing I'll have to go to a health food store to find something like this. Is that right?
