I just started getting back in shape 3 weeks ago, last week when I attempted a push-up of all things I fell flat on my face. My right shoulder had the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I have still been doing my routines, but my shoulder seems to have limited movement and still hurts. My push-ups are now one handed. I have no idea when or how I might have hurt it, or what would help. Any suggestions would be great.

Well a very good suggestion is to go to see the doc....... (you knew that one anyway!)

You should definately stop using it until you find out what you've done. You risk greater injury if you continue to work it. Limited movement should tell you, get it looked at!

If you don't get the injury treated properly now, it might come back to bite you in the butt later.

Read my posts in this forum. I just made it back after having to take a month off for the same reasons your talking about.

Just wanted to thank everybody for responding and to let you know that I saw the Doc. He couldn't find any reason for pain, he recommended that I do extra stretches for my shoulder before doing anything. Still hurts like crazy, but I guess it is nothing major. thanks again.

I would go for a sec opinion. It sounds like a rotor cup problem and those are not fun to let go.

You might try going to an orthopedic doctor. They specialize in these types of things.

See an Ortho. I injured my shoulder about 2 years ago during a fall in martial arts training and because I was a stubborn chica and did not see the proper type of MD, for an entire year I was in pain. And occasionally, it comes back to bite me in the...y'know. Good luck and don't use the shoulder - either one, preferably since it's sorta connected and could cause neck problems as well (did w/me).
