I have been taking hydroxycut for 4-5 weeks now and at first it gave me a bunch of energy and i felt great. But now I feel like I am getting the opposite effect. I feel sluggish and really tired during the day. Should I stop taking it for a short period of time and then get back on it again? It worked while I was on it but like I said just feel sluggish. Any advice? |

That happens with ECA-type products. If you take them everyday, you eventually build a resistance. I'd advise to cycle on and off, perhaps in two week intervals. I would also not take it for more than 4 months at a time even when cycling.-------------- "Don't follow leaders and watch your parking meters!" -- Bob Dylan |

Thanks for the info mack I appreciate it. When you say only 4 months your saying go ahead and cycle but only 4 months and then stop doing anything for 4 months? Just want to make sure I understand. |

Hi. I have been taking hydrocycut and have loved the energy and quick results it has been giving. I am 5'10 and 134 lbs, so I was just taking about two a day to start out with. Otherwise, I was to wired. I had a physical last week and lab work came back that I have elevated enzymes in my liver - which I have heard can be a result of taking hydrocycut. Have you heard of anything of the sort? |

Personally I would take it back. I have never seen any results in it, and there are many more lower cost substitutes for it. The main key ingrediant in it, which is Garcinia Cambogia Extract- which contains HCA (Hydroxycitric Acid)- is shown in studies to have two effects, one being suppressing appetite, and the second is inhibiting lipid synthesis. However these studies have only been shown effective on animals (not humans). I have personally read 2 different research papers by 2 very well established firms which found that in humans there is very little effectiveness to HCA. So it is more of a gamble product since it seems to work in animals.
The good part about hydroxycut is the green tea extract. That has been proven to help some with supporting weight loss by increasing energy expenditure. However you can buy this at a lower price alone than hydroxycut costs. Typically raised liver enzymes is a showing of liver damage and should not be taken lightly. I can go into this further if you like. |

Junior,
The original post is from 2003. There are more recent posts about this stuff on FreeTrainers. Here's one that might make you a bit unhappy: http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/Message.jsp?f_ix=13&t_ix=3130 Enjoy your Hydroxycut. (Save you money next time.) -------------- --JBennett "I've up-ed my intensity.... now up yours!" I also tried Hydroxycut for about a week. It probably works best as an appetite suppressant, but I wasn't in need of an appetite suppressant. I didn't like the way it made me feel--and I love my coffee and tea. I believe the directions said not to drink caffeine containing beverages while on it...I still drank my coffee. I really am not one to take pills I don't need--I don't even take pain killers for a headache unless I feel like I'm dying. So, this definitely wasn't for me.

^vinegar, lemon juice pwo caffeine+aspirin+green tea extract=better you can also consider adding either ephedra HCL from asthma medication or pseudoephedrine....tho they are not necessary.... |
