Hi there!
Just wanted to formally introduce myslef to everyone.
My name is Melanie and I am 32 yrs. old. and am 5'7" at 144 lbs.
I am struggling to lose 12 lbs. that I gained after being diagnosed with Hypothyroid. About a year and a half ago I got sick and was basically eating pop cycles for a few days. After that I wasn't very hungry but noticed my cravings for eggs have gone through the roof.
I must've eaten a dozen eggs in a week as my meals.
Whether it was with multi-grain toast or just by themselves. I stopped using butter and started using olive oil to cook them in (I promise all of this nonsense has some meaning to what I'm getting at). I think my diet basically consisted of eggs, multi-grain bread, peanut butter, cranberries and unsalted tortilla chips with very low soium salsa for almost a year. Anyways, I know that sounds bad (and it is) but I lost 17 lbs. and kept it off for 18 months. For 2 weeks I have eaten very good. Mornings will consist of 2 eggs (sorry peeps, not giving them up) some fruit (no banana's yuk) or veggies and a slice of dry multi grain toast. fruit or veggie for snack about 2-3 hours later, lunch would be a green salad with about 2 oz. of chic. breast with olive oil and vinegar and abou the same for the rest of the day.
I'm not eating bad but the scale seems to keep going up as is the tape measure.
I am on my treadmill for about 30mins. and then I follow it with some strengthening stability ball moves for about 15-20 mins.
I need help.

How many times do you eat during the day? You may not be getting enough calories. Do you exercise every day?

Try and poach your eggs, cut back on fat, especially the tortilla chips. Try adding more fiber to your diet by alternating eggs one day for a high fiber cereal. Have more citrus fruits, eat some almonds or walnuts for snacks, try eating some frozen yogurt as desert or some almond biscotti with a coffee. All good foods that will make you slim with your exercise. I can go on. Good luck and welcome to freetrainers.
-------------- Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.
