Everyone has "their" diet. Me, I go with a modified Atkins: no refined sugar, reduced salt and as few wheat products as possible. Plus exercise, of course! But however you combine it, 40lbs in three months is pushing the limits and may be unhealthy. What're your stats? If you're 5' 1" and weigh 160, 40lbs in 3 months is going to be much more difficult (impossible?) than if you're 5' 10" and 240lbs. Even the latter is difficult for women, who tend to have slower metabolisms than men.
