Sorry guys, but i'm not sure if i picked the right place to post this one or not...

I was reading a little on "reflexology" -- how specific places on the foot and/or hand corresponds to different parts of the body. According to the theology of reflexology, pressure is placed on specific places on the foot and/or hand in order to "fix" or "heal" the corresponding body part.

Has anybody heard anything (on either side) about reflexology (the good, the bad, etc.)? Does it work?

I'm having a hard time believing just because, if it really worked, then why wouldn't more people be using it to cure things like headaches or upset stomachs? We could make ourselves "skinny" (by pressing the point that corresponds to the adrenal glands??) or even cure cancer if it worked, couldn't we??

I'm not very convinced, but I have to admit that the theory kind of intrigues me. Even if it doesn't work, it's a pretty creative theory. I guess he/she deserves credit for that, at least...

Yes reflexology really works. No it cannot make you loose weight or anything but it can help you get rid of stress and anxiety and therefore help you with a lot of other "daily" problems.
Oh yes it can help you get rid of head aches and other small aches as well.
It cannot really cure the excact illness but more what causes the problems.... Not obesity but sugar cravings, not imsomnia but the feeling of always being restless etc
You got it? (o;
Anyway, finally YOU have to believe in it as well.
It's definitely worth a try.

Without getting specific to reflexology a large part of all “natural healing methods” comes down to placebo effects. All scientific studies are run with blind trials – the actual pill given to some people a harmless totally non-reactive pill given to others. This is as people often start to get better just because they are taking something. Have you ever taken an aspirin and had the headache vanish instantaneously? Same idea.

Any way placebo effects have been known to account for up to a third of the tested individuals reporting noticeable improvements. So just on this basis doing something or taking something that makes you feel better can often give genuine results. As for “getting skinny” by pressing the adrenal glands; I am a sceptic and believe it is more to do with thinking more about your diet and stress release so consequently living a better lifestyle. My advice if it works for you and you are not been ripped off (the you feel the money you pay is worth it), go for it.
