Hi I am from Canada, 61 year old female. I am very much overweight, and would like to learn how to use the new tread mill I just got and also get into proper meals. I am also a diabetic 2 victim and would like to live a better life. I love this concept but seem to have a hard time understanding how to use the program .....

Welcome here Raven, there are plenty of us more mature:big_smile: people here. Read the boards, use fitbuddy search to do your research on how to eat properly for exercising. Ask lots of questions and stay involved. You'll find all the encouragement and information you want here. It's never too late kiddo.
Basically, start on the treadmill at a moderate pace and just build up your time over the next few months. You may want to look at the FT home exercise plan. Modify it if it's too much. We can help you do that. Take it easy. If you overdo and hurt yourself you may quit. You are going to be amazed at where you will be in a year.
On eating, take a gander at the grocery list for healthy eating. Its in the nutritional board pinned at the top with a red pin. DON'T undereat. If you are exercising you need the healthy balance of protein carbs and fats. Your body will cling to the fat it has if you starve yourself. Try breaking your meals into 5 or 6 smaller meals a day 3 hours apart. This will speed up your metabolism. If you need to talk with your doctor before you start.
Fill out your profile complete with current weight, height, goals etc. It helps us to help you if we know about you. Good luck.
