Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help me on my diet. I am a Junior in high school and I need help constructing a diet around my school and daily schedule. I am built at a height of 5' 8" and 140 pounds. Which means that I have to eat up to 1,470 calories. I am also 16 years old. I have also stopped growing (which is proven by x-rays and a orthepedic doctor when I broke my leg last summer) I am very active in high school sports. So I go to train at the YMCA in my area for about 45 min. to an hour. Swimming at least 3,500 yrds. and sometimes topping 5,000. Which is my cardiovascular activity. Then I weight train afterwards at home for about 30 min. to an hour. Using the exercises included in my Exercise Program constructed by ft. I am also on the 12 week ab blasting program. I am trying to lose the fat on my stomach which makes up most of my body fat percentage. I want to see intermediate abs by May 5th. Will you please help construct a diet for me?

DOH!

I always seem to get logged out before I post my advice, so it comes up as null.

Thanks for the advice. Sorry it took me so long to write back. I finally found a diet that goes with the amount of calories, protein, ect. that I need per day. Yet, I am scared that I will gain weight again. Also after I read a few post on this Message Board that most people who eat 2,000 or more calories (because of their body weight) is scared they will gain the weight instead of lose it. I have to admit I have that fear also. I have recently lost 50 pounds, and I was wanting to have some abs and get rid of the extra fat I have around my midsection. I lost the 50 pounds before I signed up for ft. On my newly discovered diet, which does involves all of the food groups, I have increased my calorie intake from 700 to 1,470. I know 700 wasn't at all healthy!!! I started my new diet two days ago...and I have gained one pound instead of lost it! Is it because I increased my calories so quickly instead of over a period of time? Muscle gain maybe (I have been working out and doing a lot of cardio lately)? Will my body eventually adjust to the new diet then begin to lose that extra body fat? Please reassure me of something before I start to panic!! Ah!
By the way, the 5th of May is the Junior/Senior prom. I was wanting to look slim and sleek in my dress. ;) It isn't to bad of a goal to have.

One more thing...I have a goal weight of 125-130...I am recently 140. When I lost 50 pounds I went from 190 to 140! Woohoo! =)

Just to let you know...after reading more I have also discovered that another key to having a diet fit for abs that you cut back on your carbs and eat more protein. I am getting 1,470 calories ;200g carbs; 150 protein; and 22.6 grams of fat. This good?
