I'm a 5' 11", 195lb, 37 year old male. My waist size is 34 to 36. I'm starting my mid life crisis early and want to get back in shape. I'm tired of thinking and talking about it. My wife is not motivaded to get in shape or eat better, so that makes it difficult. I want to set the example. I have three kids and work hard like most people, so time is a premium. My office building has a full in-house gym with decent equipment and it is usually empty. I have the ability to workout in the morning or at lunch time.
My biggest problem is knowing where to start with whats available. I do not want to just start using the equipment in a haphazard fashion. Please provide some suggestions how or where I can go to begin build a program.
I will share lots more info as required, but hopefully this will get things started. Please help. I'm ready.
Thx,

Have you considered trying one of the programs that FT offers? I think that they offer great programs for beginners. You and I are actually the same size so let me know if you need any advice.

Thanks for your reply. My head is swimming right now. I just started going through the FT programs and profile setting. I have a lot to chew on and sort out. The main thing I need to do right now is get started. Perhaps the specialty abbs program is a start.

Getting started is the hardest part. Once you get yourself working out and on a schedule it will be second nature.

Yepper, just START! Start and keep going! :)
I, too, have a spouse that thinks it humerous that his belly is growing to the size of carrying a eleven month child. He is 10 years younger than me and everyone we have ever met thinks we are the same age. He is not overly heavy elsewhere and thinks he is okay then. He doesn't care what he eats and loathes any form of exercise. I was always very, very athletic and have found myself following his eating habits and forgetting my exercise enthusiasms for ten years now. But, I gotta do what I gotta do and that is to realize I want to live longer and better - so do it for yourself and if you are like me, you will keep the hope that someday they will join you! :)
