I've been very consistant about going to the gym 5-6 times a week for the past month and a half. I do at least 30-45 min of cardio, then spend my next 30-60 min doing strength training. I've noticed my strength has improved as I can do more reps or weights. HOWEVER, I haven't lost any inches or pounds. Getting difficult to not get discouraged. I also have polycystic ovary syndrome which makes things difficult. Oh and I have split my meals up so I've actually been doing 6 small meals. What more can I do?
Hi shortie heather - what is your calorie intake and what type of foods are you eating at those six meals? You can eat six times a day and eat entirely the wrong foods or too much or too little.
I would suggest doing cardio one day and lifting the next, so you can devote your energy fully to one or the other.
Once you get past the one hour of exercising, your body is pretty stressed out.
A month and a half really ins't that long, if you consider how long you have been overweight, or how long it took you to put on extra weight/get out of shape. Give your body some time to adjust and feel secure that food is plentiful and exercise is here to stay and it should respond by releasing some fat.
also - take measurements and go by those instead of the scale.
