Hi, I was always wondering why I wasn't seeing any change in my body, since I was eating very low fat and very low carbs and plenty of protein!
I think since I'm a vegetarian I need more nuts and seeds then nonvegetarians because that's how I'll get my protein and fats my body needs! So is what I've been doing is eating nuts and seeds like you all eat meat and dairy! I have like 1/2 a cup-sometimes 1 cup a day! Thats how I get my protein, fat and calories! Nuts and seed are just as low fat as meats and dairy, maybe just a little higher in calories, but my calories are too low without them anyway! Being a vegetarian your calories can be too low, if you don't be careful! I have like 1/4 cup with every meal! Except in the morening I do have my protein shake! I feel better this way and I feel more strength in my muscles and I feel like my muscles work harder now! I am trying not to over do it on that fat, I just want to have enough! I've realized though that meat eaters do get some fat from their meat no matter how low fat it is, unless it's fat free, but that's one thing I've noticed that you need fat or your body won't work as good (thinks it's starving!) That's why I wasn't seeing or feeling any change! Plus I've noticed bodybuilders or anyone toning up their body always has a little fat in there food, no fat free unless they already had some for the day! I wasn't having any fat! Before all I was having was fruit, lots of green vegetables, beans and soy protein shake! Which is all fat free! Which is bad for wanting to tone or build muscle and loosing fat! In least this is what's working better for my body!
I just wanted to see what others thought about this and give some other vegetarians some ideas, if their not seeing any progress either!
Now I notice my workouts feel a little harder because my muscles seem to be tightening up more, etc!
Can anyone give me an idea what you think and about how much fat I would need a day! I'm not really going by percent because even having the nuts and seed my daily calories is only around 1500, because I want to loose fat and I want to make sure not to gain weight with this! I'm 5'5 and weight 140, I will say I have alot of muscle, but I got some fat covering it, which I want to get rid of! I just want to loose the fat and just tone up and not gain anymore weight!
Thanks in advance! Sorry so long! I know everyone say's watch the nuts and seeds, but that's the only fats I get and they sure seem to be helping me!
Have a great day!

Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. I dont see anywhere that you say how many grams of fat are in your daily diet. My caloric intake is between 1800 and 2100 depending on what kind of workout cycle I am in and I always try to keep my fat below 50g a day. And some of that is good fats from tuna, olive oil and nuts.
