I had no idea until I just read that blackstrap molasses was a good source of protein - anyone have any ideas on what a person can make with molasses while keeping it low-fat/healthy?

I thought of my grandmothers cookies but I just know they can't be good for me :) yummmmmm

when my mom was pregnant with me she used to dip biscuits in black strap molasses to eat it. Isn't it too high in sugar and other things to make it worth the protein? Maybe you could make some sort of glaze for your chicken with it. I think you can search recipe websites by ingredient. Pull up everything with blackstrap molasses in it and your bound to find something that isn't a cookie or cake...

sorry that I wasn't too helpful.

I used it for hydraulic fluid on fishing outriggers once.

The "Blackstrap Molasses" you read about isn't the typical molasses. It is what is extracted from the 3rd batch of processing from sugar cane to sugar. The taste isn't to palatable. If you take 2tsp a day you are getting a good dose of manganese, copper, ir0n, calcium,potassium,vitb6. 1 tsp has 16 cal. There is absolutely no protein in this. Try a tablespoon in warm water. Perhaps you can get a sample before buying a whole jar.
