hi, I was wondering if there's an ideal amount of protein and carbs that should be in my post workout shake. Whether it should be a specific percentage of my daily intake, or a general amount. I'm taking in 180g protein, 275g carbs, daily right now. My workouts are heavy, i'm doing about 4 sets 8 reps average. Thanks a lot.

I hope nobody's upset with me bumping this back up, I'm just pretty curious, and I'm sure someone knows the answer. Thanks.

Try doing a search. There are a ton of posts about the perfect post-workout shake.... In fact, I think there's an old post regarding glutamine that rev8ball responded to in which he gave the breakdown of his shake....I could be wrong. Hope this helps! :)

Sounds by your profile your main concern is to lower your bodyfat. If this is the case, a good place to start is use 1/4 your bodyweight, .25 gr. per lb. of a simple carb and protein mix. In other words, if you weigh 180 lbs., you would want a 45 gr. mixture split equally between dextrose and maltodextrin.(22.5 gr. each). Add into this 45 gr. of protein, chug 1/2 immediately, and sip the rest for the remainder of an hour. As you diet more, and have more desire for more bodyfat loss, you will decrease this accordingly. You will have to be the judge of how much "energy" you use on a workout. This is a rough guideline to start your PWO shake.
