Lifting weights will make a difference but what you need/what you want is a whole life style change.
When I was 14 and first going to high school I was over 6 feet tall and over 240 pounds. Going to the gym just didn't work, I felt discouraged, didn't have the time to get there, and didn't have the money for a membership, or my own weight set. High school sports was a good start, but lets face it, I didn't really fit in there all that well either, everyone was healthier then me, still it was a team sport so I worked hard and my team mates encouraged me. The best thing for me was joining the army cadets, it was my saving grace. It's all year around, everything isn't based on big game wins, but day to day wins, and it's a constant competition on everything you do, so you get to show off other skills while others show you how to get fit.
What I am saying is lift weights, but is it a realistic goal at this stage of your life? It wasn't for me, so baby steps all the way. Get a good team something or rather going. You expand your friendship circle that way too, I found most people I hung out with were like me, so they were all getting discouraged too, so we never got anywhere.
Good luck, and the only thing is, stick with it, keep trying, and probably have to convice your parents to change there diets, because if you feel out of shape due to a bad diet, they probably are too, and they buy they food, so you gotta convice them too.
