man, i started working out at 14 and i did the same, its ok if you have a partner with you so then you can totally kill your self if you want, i was still growing also, it doesnt affect you growth at that age, i have been told by a person way older then me and he is in body building so i beleave him, but ppl have diff opinions. as long as your routine is good you can max out,... but change it up once and a while. dont always max out, try low reps high weight, then after on your next routine try low weight high reps. just so your muscles dotn get use to the exercise....

maxing out is ok to do every once to in a while to see how you are progressing in strength just do a good warm up so you dont pull something

You should not max out every time you go to the gym. If you do, you may injure yourself. You should cycle your training- Heavy days and light days. Give your muscles a chance to recover from the stresses of lifting. Get yourself a good manual on how to perform the basic lifts and follow some sample routines, until you gain the experience you need to start developing your own routines.

Maxing out seems fine to me, but I was wondering also, does lifting sunt your growth. I'm 16 and I'm 6'2" 230lbs, and I don't want to stop growing, cause I play football, and I want all the height I can get.
