Hi all! I've been gone for a while....months and months..... but now I'm back. It got a little stressful there for a while, final projects and then finals themselves...blah blah blah...... Once everything got settled by kitty got really sick all of a sudden and we had to put him down. :( He was not even two years old. It was horrible and awful and I was a wreck for weeks. Still makes me cry sometimes when I think about him.....anyway, things are getting better. We got a new kitty (my other one was sooo lonely and depressed he just stared out the window all day for weeks....). So, in case anyone noticed I was gone ----here I am! :)

Meant to add... sorry about the kitty.... they become a part of your life, don't they...?

Out of respect I won't start up on cats. It hasn't been the same here without your sharp legal mind . Please stay a while and lend some sanity.... or go to the "hard forever" post in the Living board and add your 2 cents.

Thanks guys! It's great to be back....unfortunately it's not great having to start over..... but that will pass and soon I'll be back where I left off -- I hope. Yes, they do become part of your life. Kilo was the coolest cat EVER! He was my siamese furbaby....I think even Charlie would have liked him :) Thankfully I have some great pictures and even greater memories.

I guess I like kittys ok as long as they are clean. You do remember my cat washing instructions don't you?

Unfortunately Charlie, I don't. However, I'm guessing that it's safe to assume that the process involves either a dishwasher or a washing machine?!?! In either case, my furbabies don't need it. They get their coats brushed and their nails clipped routinely. ----I'm still working on the teeth-brushing thing ----- the cats' not my own, for those of you who won't be able to resist that one.

Charlie!!!!! I found it and you are an evil, evil man. However, I did laugh out loud. :) I had a teacher once who tied her hamster to a string and flushed him down the toilet....but I don't think it was so she could give him a bath........

OK since you found it.

How to Bathe A Cat

1. Thoroughly clean toilet.

2. Lift both lids and add shampoo.

3. Find and soothe cat as you carry him to bathroom.

4. In one swift move, place cat in toilet, close both
lids and stand on top, so cat cannot escape.
5. The cat will self agitate and produce ample suds.
(Ignore ruckus from inside toilet, cat is enjoying this.)

6. Flush toilet 3 or 4 times. This provides power
rinse, which is quite effective.
7. Have someone open outside door, stand as far from
toilet as possible and quickly lift both lids.
8. Clean cat will rocket out of the toilet and
outdoors, where he will air dry.

Sincerely,
The Dogs (Buddy, Lacey, Pax, Cookie, Colonel, Wolf, Mugsy, Abby, et al)

That's a good way to wash a cat. I thought you were gonna say, run him over with the car, and forget about it.

Okay guys, so seriously now, I am FREAKING OUT. My kitty died about a month ago. It was a horrible, awful, painful and traumatic experience....they had him on oxygen, his chest filled with fluid.....it gets worse, but I'll spare the details. So after they do the necropsy and find out that it's nothing contagious, just some rare freak fluke, we get another cat. My other kitty was lonely so we decided to get him a friend. Well, we've had her for abour four days....I think she's sick. She's super lethargic and seems disoriented. I could be paranoid.....maybe she's just tired, but considering everything that we've dealt with recently, I'm FREAKING OUT. I swear, I CANNOT deal with this again.....

<---showing sensitivity and choosing not to say anything.

...Especially about the visual of the cat being on oxygen.

Cobra, how's the new kitty? I hope everything works out ok for you. Just a quick question, I read somewhere that certain types of floor cleaners are toxic to pets, could it be a problem?

Thank you everyone for your support. We took her to the vet yesterday....said everything appears normal. I'm hoping she's just recovering from the stress of a new environment. Unless things go terribly wrong, she has a follow-up appointment on wednesday to get re-checked and get her 2nd vaccine in the kitten series. Don't think it's the floors. Our other cat is just fine and we're pretty careful about absolutely everything we use (we're a little paranoid). Thanks again guys. I really appreciate it.

Welcome back Cobra! Sorry to hear about your kitty. My girlfriend and I just got two kittens ourselves this pat week. They were a little lethargic as well, but have adjusted well in the past few days. Since the vet gave a clean bill of health to your cat, I would assume there's nothing to be concerned about and your worrying is probably due to your recent experience with your other cat dying. Totally understandable. Have fun with your new kitty and welcome back.
