hi all i am Brenda a 25 year old mother of 2 wonderful kids.
just joined this site to come to a realistic goal and figure out what i should be doing? should i do stright cardio and hope to get smaller and lose the weight or should i be doing weights and toning equipment such as the eliptical to get smaller? i have never in my life had to work out i was always a size 3 and then kids came and i hit 150 + lbs i need some help and and fast!

Whew... loaded question! I would recommend some weight trainging mixed with some cardio. Sign up for one of the programs here and give it a whirl.

Remember, a good diet and clean eating will go a long way to meeting your goals.

hi Brenda.

The elliptical is a cardio machinem it really won't 'tone' you.

get on a resistance program! Youdon't want to be smaller and mushy, do you? Strength training will not only make your daily activities easier, it will build bone strength to prevent osteoporosis, it will rev up your metabolism so you don't have to cut your calories as drastically and it will give you a nice, shapely physique when your reach your goal size instead of just being a smaller version of your body now.

cardio is good for your heart and good to burn additional calories, but nothing beats strength training for women to reshape and change their physiques!

thanks for all your help guys!!! i started today on the weight training and OMG i did not realize how week i was lol i guess that the muscle will come in time
