I checked fitbuddy couldn't find the same dumb question as mine but. How far apart are my legs supposed to be. Or does it not matter? As with getting a six pack i want to weight train also.

I believe the standard is shoulder width apart... although I think some others do sumo squats which, if I'm not mistaken is a wider stance...

im pretty sure you're right timday.. wider takes less pressure off your lower back. you can do power squats (sumo squats) which have a real wide stance and toes pointed outwards to focus on the inner thigh

I squat in the power range feet over shoulder lift apart but not in sumo range.

I have done shoulder width apart for years, never got above 225. I spread them out past shoulde width and point my toes out a little now my max is 405 (that went from 315 to 350 to 405 in 3 months). Just find a width that is good for you,

yea wider stants are great for squats......I switch close medium wide and sumo in and out.....Thing is for the wider stances......you need a stronger lower back, and fairly good hip flexability. Just make sure your head is up, butt back.......and theighs at least parallal.
Sorry old man........but the gen x'rs are the stuff.
