Hi, I am a 21 year old male. I am wondering how much losing 18 pounds would increase my vertical leap. I am 5'9" right now and weight 178. It is mostly muscle but not quite as much muscle as I had in high school even though I weighed the same. Somehow my vertical leap has stayed the same. I can hang on the rim. I am just wondering if I dropped down to about 160 pounds how much would my vertical increase? I plan on keeping as much muscle as possible by squatting, dead lifting, watching my diet and doing other various exercises. Thanks

Start doing more olympic lifts and plyometrics to improve your power on top of the squats/deadlifts.

If you're losing primarily muscle then you'll probably get weaker/worsen your vert.
