I'm 21 and haven't done anything especially physical since I was on the wrestling team in high school. I'm looking to tone my body back up and was just wondering what the rule of thumb was for the rest in-between reps. As anyone who's ever played a high school sport knows, you do what you're told when you're told, and I never really paid much attention to the in-between time. I'd appreciate it very much if someone could answer that for me.

usually 1min is good, depending on how much your lifting too.......if its under 60% of your max, 30secs to 45secs is good, since its nto alot of weight. More that 70 or 80 so start going 1 to 2 mins........90% and above i'd say 2 mins

Fairly simple formula to use...the heavier you go, the more rest you require. Going extremely heavy warrants a rest of up to 2 minutes, while an endurance workout usually allows up to 30 seconds rest.
