What can I use for a substitute for 'incline cable crossover' (chest)? There are no cables near floor on the machine...Would it be OK to use dumbbells for this exercise?

Are you sure you haven't checked to make sure that the machine you're looking at has adjustable cables? I know that at the gym where I go, there's a knob you pull in and out that you can use to adjust whether the cable is being pulled down from the top or pulled up from the bottom.

Otherwise, I don't see why dumbells wouldn't work. Just do the motion without the cable and feel how and where your muscles are working during that motion and then try to duplicate it with dumbells.
