I need to get my abs in shape or more or less my whole body. I have been going to a fitness center called the ymca to do most of my workout but can anyone tell me how I can work out my abs without using my back. I have degenerative disc disease. my back is sometimes in terrible pain if I do to much. So I avoid alot of lifting or doing things that can hurt me. Can anyone tell me how to work this abs into some kind of shape without hurting my back?

What about an ab machine. The resistance is adjusted by air, do they have that at the "Y" where you go? It is a chair with a bar in fron of it and you bend forwardwhile sitting up.
