It could be just as good if the intensity of the exercise is the same. Either way, it's great to keep in shape and for good health.

It's also great to have different aerobic exercises that you enjoy so that your body doesn't get accustomed to just one, and therefor it doesn't do as much for you.

i find i have to work harder on a bike to get my heart rate as high as i could get it running, but its still a great workout.. really hammers the legs and abs, and great for HIIT training

Much less high impact...over the years, will save on the joints.
