Creatine is not bad for your body. In fact... creatine improves the performance of your muscles, though to what extent is debatable.HOWEVER, when mixing creatine with water or juice, you should consume it immediately. Once mixed with water (and yes there is water in juice) creatine will break down into a compund called creatinine, which is toxic. The moral of the story is: drink your creatine drinks fast! -Jim |

Creatinine can also build up in your kidneys if you don't drink enough water. I've never heard of creatinine forming in the actual creatine-water mix; I learn something new everyday. Creatine is not bad for your body if you just do what you're supposed to do: drink water. |

Yeah... I read about it in "Uncensored" in MuscleMag a while back. Some guy wrote in asking how to keep his water bottle from leaking his creatine drink all over his duffle bag (put the cap on right, duh!). The Doc went on to say that you shouldn't pre-mix creatine because the water breaks it down into cretinine.Funny thing about the water. I drink nearly 1.5gallons a day. When I had my cold, the doc told me to drink more fluids! I did 2 gallons one day, and thought I was gonna float away! -Jim |

I've heard different things about that..before your workout...after your workout. I've tried both and doesn't seem to make a big difference for me. Whatever is easiest to rememeber!-Ken |

Creatine has never been proven to have any negetive side effects. Just make sure you drink plenty of water because of the increased water retention in your muscles that creatine causes. Pre-mixing creatine does not cause it to convert to creatinine, but make sure you mix it in warm water because it doesn't dissolve properly in cold water. |

It can, yes, but probably won't. Most of the time a build-up of creatinine occurs in people with pre-existing kidney disorders, which some may not even know about. When you hear about all the "negative" effects of creatine, that's what you hear about. Check out this link:http://my.webmd.com/content/article/3187.13535 Its a short and sweet description of everything you need to know about creatine. Good luck! |

Yeah, but what doesn't cause cancer?? Creatine is naturally formed in your body. Moderation until they have conclusive evidence. :)coolness... |

You'll be ok...so long as you remember to drink lots of water. I've seen some really great results/gains made from people who take creatine. I have also heard something about giving your body a break after so long of taking it....I'm not sure, though...If/when you find out, let us know! good luck! sg |
