A last meal of the day be a good thing as long as it fits in your caloric needs. a shake that contains casein or some cottage cheese is a good bedtime snack.

Yes, but do not eat a 'heavy' meal because your body's metabolism slows down as you sleep. Furthermore this will just be stored as fat.

Eating the right foods will not be stored as fat. I eat every night before bedtime ( 90 minutes before) Either cottage cheese or egg whites along with some peanut butter .I haven't once noticed any fat gain doing so . I don't see anything wrong with feeding your muscle while they sleep.

Forgot to add as long as it fits into your daily calories.

I was told that you should all of your meals before 6 in order for your body not to store them as fat. Is this true?

As long as you eat the right foods, you should be fine. If you drink a shake make sure it is a healthy one.

Not necessarily. You shouldn't eat heavily in the night time, but a small healthy snack before bed like cottage cheese isn't going to break the bank. Especially if it's still within your calorie budget for the day. There is no magic hour to eat all your meals by. Typically I eat dinner around 5:30 or 6pm, then my snack about 7:30 or 8pm. I go to bed between 9-10pm.

No, you're going to be just fine. Cleaner proteins like a chicken breast aren't a bad late nite snack at all. Ice cream however isn't so great. It's the simple carbs and bad fats that you don't want to have before bed.
