I have heard that bench pressing helps strengthen muscles, but not noticeable build them. I don't believe this is true but im not sure. Is it?

Depends, theres different "styles" of benching........its can be a power movement( for strength) or a "body building" move........to me however dumbells are better for body building....... due to the greater stretch and better range of motion, just depends on your goals and what your trying to acomplish.......high maxes, or body building.

Bench presses are the undisputed king of chest exercises. Performed properly, they will put mass on. Take a look at any pro bodybuilder. I guarantee you they do heavy reps on bench presses. Switch up, barbell and dumbbell. Use along with them inclines and declines, and you cover the chest basics.
