I was just wondering if there was a certain time when you shouldn't eat at night?

While you are sleeping :).
But seriously, it depends on your schedule. A protein based snack before bed is actually a good idea if you want to maintain muscle. Make it a form of protein with casein in it - that stays in your system longer.

after 8oclock at night all food goes straight to your belly and stays there.
