Hi all,

well over the rally, I lost a couple pounds, but gained a couple inches, that means I gained fat. I feel so gross. I'm sure we've all been at the point where we're just disgusted with our bodies, right? Well I'm there now.

Anyways, would it be wise to go low-carb for about two weeks to help make up for this?

I'd like to hear the advice... thanks

Hi Tara,

When I've slacked on diet or exercise, I often try to cut back on my carbs a little for the next two weeks or so...At the very least it kind of makes me feel less bloated. I don't cut fruits & veggies or my morning oats - just things like bread & rice.

Guess I don't know if this is good or bad, but thought I'd let you know that I do it too! Must be good if both of us do it - I mean, we *are* FT members :)

You'll get back to where you were before in a short period of time. Plus when you're small 1-2 lbs *feels* like a lot of weight to add, but it's really not that much extra to shed. (Again, just how it generally works for me.)

I think Kirbys approach is a sound one. Keep up your good carbs like oatmeal. Don't get too overboard on the carb cutting, you could do worse damage like lose muscle tissue. You can't really "fix" mistakes, so the best thing to do is just get back on a sound diet as soon as possible. You will lose that back fairly rapidly.

Okay thanks Kirby and Ron. I think I will cut back on the carbs but be "reasonable" and eat carbs before I workout in the morning. Just for a couple weeks. I never fell off the wagon really, it's just that I was unable to hit the gym.
