My mom uses this stuff made by Fleshmans. It is a butter flavored spread like margarine, but it is made out of olive oil. It has no trans fat. The next time we run out of marg, should I buy this instead?

Olive oil is much better. Ditch the margarine. Check out your margarine, bet it is loaded with hydrogenated oils.

Oh yes it is, thats why I wanted to know if it would be better to buy this Olive Oil spread. It tastes the same as the other stuff, but seems to have a lot less of the horrible words I can't pronounce on the ingredient label.

look more,
maybe you can find another oil spray besides olive oil, like canola oil or sunflower oil.

Just wanted to be clear that this is an olive oil spread, that tastes like margarine. For spray, I use Pam.

Olive oil is loaded with MS fats, and shown in numerous studies to have a protective effect against CAD, etc. You will do well using olive oil.

By the way, if you are going to cook with olive oil, use just olive oil, not extra virgin, as it has a higher smoke point so it is more stable. Extra virgin on the other hand is best for anything else.

I prefer groundnut oil for cooking, I find olive oil has too strong a flavour (except for in mediterranean dishes, which it complements)
