my uncle who is a bodybuilder told me that i do not need to take protein supplement.get protein from natural foods.Is this right?

protein from whole foods will always be better then supps.
I would have thought that a protein shake with dex/malto after you workout would be good though.

I am sure other will have some more input to this

if you are just beginning, just buy some Whey protein powder for you after workout shake apart from that get your protein from whole foods. Look at this post from BB1 http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/Message.jsp?f_ix=3&t_ix=1404
pick your food off that list
train hard and you will be alright

It is better to take a protein supplement directly after your workout than it is to get protein from a natural source. This is because your muscles have been fatigued, and the quicker you get protein to them the quicker and better they will repair. Whey protein shakes are the quickest way to get protein to the muscles. Now throughout the day it is probably better to get protein from food, but post workout drink a shake.
