A buddy of mine told me that slim fast is similar to a protien shake and can be used like one. He says hes gonna drink them until he can get a blender for real shakes. So im curious... can they really be used as a substitution to a protein shake? Are they really that similar?

http://www.slim-fast.com/products/product_info.asp?product_id=697
here is a link to a product label........it only has 10 g of protein compared to 30 or so for a normal protien shake, so i would say that it is not a very good replacement

Slim Fast is not the same...Get yourself a good mixing cup...you don't need a full out blender but a hand blender works well (can get them quite inexpensively)...not all shakes need a blender but a good up with lid (or even a jar) and shake well (thus the "shake")

I have to admit, I was looking for a "ready made" protein suppliment, for convenience, but couldn't find anything to match. I was getting frustrated because I was finding that my supp was too lumpy after I made it. I finally found the solution...I make it before I go to the gym and by the time I drink it, it's all dissolved. Is there a reason they don't sell it as single serving ready to drink?

ABS-olutely Wrong! Look at the ingredients list.
Fly...you might want to try myoplex by eas. They are single servings, good in a pinch. Not to many make them because of the shelf life etc.
