I am considering trying the EAS Whey mix. My question is, is it right for me?
I currenly weight 243lbs. Just a month or so ago, I weighed 265lbs. My goal weight is 200lbs. I'm not on any Atkins, Low Carb, or any other type of diet. I'm just carefully monitoring the amounts and types of foods I eat and I've cut out all the bad ones (fatty, fried, sweets, colas, snacks).
I have been lifting weights for three weeks now, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. (Never enjoyed it before!) I lift on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, I run. (Or try to run!) Sunday I take the day off from my newfound rigorous routine.
I'm looking for anything that can assist me in reaching my weight loss and fitness goals. On the advice of a new friend (who is the most awesomely built and fit human I've ever seen), I have taken an interest in the whey supplement. Specifically, I'm looking at the chocolate flavored whey shake available at Walmart from EAS.
As you might imagine, I have many questions:
1) Would whey be beneficial to me in helping me increase my strength as well as the size of my muscles?
2)Realistically, how much of a difference does it make using the whey supplement vs. not using it?
3)How often and when should one use the whey?
4) Would the whey interfere with my weight loss and should I wait and use it after I've met my weight loss goal?
5) Are there any side effects?
