Just picked up a tub of this stuff vanilla cream flavor, WOW!!! Taste like a vanilla milk shake, best tasting vanilla protein powder on the market hands down. Mixed mine with a dash of giner and cinnamon w/ 1/2 cups oats and it's just delicious. Down side-it's alittle pricey almost $40 for a 3lbs. tub, but you get what you pay for. Shop around for prices, vitamine shoppe has it priced pretty good a little under $40.

When I saw this post, I opened it expecting to respond to a question as to its quality. My reply was going to be fine, but a bit overpriced. You have found that out already though I see. They do have some tasty flavors.

What are your thoughts on nectar protein by syntrax?..I love there flavors as well and use it as my post workout shake and have seen some good results. i use the isopure in my days off mixed as above with a little egg white protein powder as well. Isopure seems like a pretty decent protein. I've always kinda looked at protein powders as just that and shopped on flavors and whether it's whey,isolate.ect...

I am a big fan of AST's VP2 Protein Isolate, tastes good and is super pure.

I use to use VP2 whey, i don't know about the taste though. but was good stuff but recently heard bad things about their company. There was also a post on here a while back about a couple of people who got arsenic poisining from AST products, not sure if it's true though. But i've had just as good gains with nectar protein and it tastes way better than VP2

Hmm, I have used AST products for quite some time, never a problem. That's news to my ears.

Why not go to www.trueprotein.com and buy for half the price excellent quality, and great flavors? You can blend your own if you like.

No i'm bulking right now, yes it has very low carbs, 3g only which is why i use it on my off days since i don't have a PWO shake i blend it with some oats and have in between meals so i get the smae amount of protein and carbs as on a workout day.

I would be willing to bet many of the proteins out there that are flavored are using aspartame or splenda. If you are not using any other aspartatme in your diet, I do not think the bit in the flavoring for your protein will hurt you.

Is sucralose a sweetner? and would splenda and asparteme be considered artificial sweetners?

Anything that isn't sugar will be considered an artificial sweetner. But, with Splenda, which makes it unique is that it is the only one that is actually derived from sugar. During the process a certain molecule is left out which allows it to pass through your gut without being digested, thus 0 calorie. And if I am not mistaken sucralose and Splenda are the same? Not to sure on that though. I agree with bb1, I wouldn't worry to much about the aspartame.

I would opt for whey isolate. Easier on the stomach than concentrate if you have any lactose problems for instance.

Probably splenda by a nose. You can always add your own you know.

The reason I say this is there are folks who are not fond of using either(I am one), stevia seems to be the safest and best though a bit more pricey.

Using either in your PWO shake, or using them period?
