...baseball season. I love all sports but there is something about baseball that makes me more excited. I guess its the whole "winter turning to spring". As I always post, I'm a New Yorker and being in New York we have big market teams(which doesn't mean much considering the Marlins beet the Yanks last year). Baseball is exciting for fans no matter where you are(except Boston:laugh:). Unfortunately, I'm a Mets fan and in my town, we are the hated minority, dealing with obnoxious Yankees fans throwing 100 years of history in our faces. Its rough. The exciting news though is that I was able to get opening day tickets to Shea(METS) Stadium, right behind the dugout.:big_smile::big_smile: Its good to see the boys of summer coming back...especially the ones who are no longer taking steroids and look 40 pounds lighter. -------------- Baseball is wrong: Man with four balls cannot walk. amen jdelts! (i hate being a texan...our team went to crap when we lost pitching, so right now i mainly like certain players.) Pudge is still my role model (me being a former catcher). *sigh* i wish i could play again...i guess thats **Part** of why i'm here. But yeah...i kinda liked the angels for a little while, but m'eh. Ah yes, roger clemens back in texas, playing for the astros. I'll be sure to watch a game or so from them.

I love baseball season, but as a Pirates fan, I have mixed emotions. My childhood memories of going to Three Rivers Stadium and watching Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonilla, and Andy Van Slyke lead the bucs to the NLCS are long gone. PNC Park is fantasic, though, and the front office is trying its best with the resources it has. It just hard when teams like the Yankees have four players making more than our entire roster. What I said was Our Montreal expos, might become the Connecticut Colonials. They are offering to build them a $250,000,000.00 stadium. Guess I'll have to become a Boojays fan! -------------- "A will finds a way, failure is not an option" Ivan carivan@freetrainers.com Montreal Canada |

Local boy Matt Morris has to be on this year...he went to my rival high school here in NY. His sister was my gym teacher and he was my pitching coach for two weeks before he got called up to tripple-a back in '97. As long as the Astros, Braves and Giants do nothing this year, I'll be happy.-------------- Baseball is wrong: Man with four balls cannot walk. Jdelts@freetrainers.com |

Here we go Phillies here we go! The Phillies are looking good this year. I am looking forward to the season for the first time in a long time. By the way jdelts I actually grew up rooting for the Mets. This was in the 80's when Strawberry was my idol. I finally realized that I was from Philly so I should root for the Phils. -------------- My gym dues are not paid with money. |

Unfortunately, Houston bought them a team. They are going to be tough this year. And as much as I hate to admit it, the *yuk* Cubs are going to be pretty good.
Cool about Matt Morris. You are right, he needs to be on. As well as Woody who seems to have come back well. ============ Quoting from jdelts: Local boy Matt Morris has to be on this year...he went to my rival high school here in NY. BB1...Woody could be a Cy Young candidate if he wasn't injured all the time. Oh GEEZ...a Braves AND a Phillies fan all on one post...my lucky day. Genson, this may be the demise of the Braves this year...but they always pull something out of their asses to win the division. Hec...those were the days. You have a good team on your hands, but I still hate them!-------------- Baseball is wrong: Man with four balls cannot walk. Jdelts@freetrainers.com |

Being from Alabama I am a Braves fan. When I was a mere tot my dad used to drag me to those Braves games to watch hammerin'Hank put'em out. Bobby Cox is so irrational in his managerial decisions. It is extremely frustrating to be a fan now though. I HATE the Yankees, with the same passion I reserve for the Cowboys, Lakers, and the Crimson Tide.

Cruelio...as much as I LOATH the Spankees, I have to disagree that the Red Sox will take the East because of one reason...NO middle relief, which the Yanks have plenty of.
Central---Twins hands down West---Oakland looks good with that awesome pitching staff, but Anaheim looks like a sleeper. NL EAST---Phillies look good, especially with Wagner closing. As long as Atlanta doesn't win. Central---Ah yes, CLEMENS is public enemy #1 when he faces my METS...I think the CUBS will take it, but not before the Stros and CArds put up a fight. In the West---Who cares?!:laugh::laugh:...I think San Fran could win out, but watch out for LA. World Series---SPANKEES VS. CUBS....and I quote the late, great Harry Carey, "CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!" -------------- Baseball is wrong: Man with four balls cannot walk. Jdelts@freetrainers.com |
