So I am sure everyones New Years resolution is the same as mine. Lose weight! I am 27 years old and a single Mom of two. I lived in Texas with my ex for 5 years and because of a bad break up I had to move back to New Mexico. I weight in about 160lbs when I lived there but was very active. Went to the lake: jetskiing, swimming, tubing, etc. But now I am back in the Desert with nothing like that to do. And the worst of it is the unbelivable Mexican Food. When I lived here 8 years ago I was 18 and in shape (a high school Varsity Cheerleader) and the food didn't seem to have an affect on me. Now it does. So here I am weighing in at 203lbs and only 5'4" and I hate the way I look. My doctor has prescribed me Xenical and I am trying to get motivated to get to the gym every other day. So I guess I am looking for moral support..feedback..or suggestions on how to drop this weight! My goal is 150lbs and FAST! Any ideas? Feel free to email me at mysterys_angel@yahoo.com (more then likely I will get it quicker on here then on the message board. Hope to hear from you soon!

From what they have told me eat well and eat often 4-5 little meals a per day. Also loose fast mentality. If the weight comes off to fast you increase the chances of gaining it back. I have been lossing a few pounds every few weeks for a year, and it's staying off. Xenical will help but it's short term plus it will give you loose bowel movements. Learn to eat better and train!!! good luck were all here for you - Mike m/28/ny 6'4 377lbs

Welcome to FT, JJ! Your safest bet in losing the weight permanently is NOT to think you're going to lose it fast. You didn't gain that weight fast, so the reverse is also true. If you get your diet in order (about 80% of the battle) and include resistance training along with cardio, you should get to your goal in about 26 weeks (6 months) or sooner.

Good luck and feel free to ask us anything...
