Okay, if your fat its because you eat more calories then you burn right?

Well, if you burn 2000 a day and you eat 2250 a day, why dont you keep getting bigger and bigger forever? How come most people's wieght is in this perfect harmony that for better or worse, never changes?

That is a complicated answer. The debate over calories in/calories out can be a wild one. There is plenty of "studies" on either side that "prove" that either one is true. This is why I have a hard time relying on studies for the most part since the fact is that the human body is nearly impossible to TRULY study. In my opinion , backed by the research that I've done leads me to believe that it's not as important HOW MUCH you eat, but more importantly, WHAT you put into your mouth. As for the calories in/calories out debate, my view is this: It is nearly impossible to figure out exactly how many calories one needs in a day due to the numerous factors involved in an individuals metabolism. Research has shown that 50 to 70% of your daily caloric intake is used to simply keep you alive, not "skinny", alive! Then you have to take digestion, absorption and elimination into consideration...daily movement, work environment, stress levels, sleep patterns, sex of person, current metabolic rate...oh yeah and what type of food you ate. This is by no means an exhaustive list of the possible factors involved, so as you can see the answer to that question can probably be answered with...uhdonknow :) joking

It is in fact in fact a combination of calories in/out and they type of food you eat. Assuming your activity level does not change...If your maintenance calories are say 1500 per day,(just a figure), tell me if you eat it all in jelly beans(which by the way are lower on the glycemic scale than a potato!), spread out in 5 servings of 300 calories at each, will you gain weight? Most probably not! Will you be healthy, gain any muscle? Most definitely not. Now, the type of foods you eat can assist your body in losing fat, such as good amounts of fiber and protein along with healthy fats. You eat the same amount of calories(1500) in these foods, and you will probably see results and be healthy to boot.
