I'm hoping that other girls have this problem, but I have really really muscular thighs and calves and I'm under 5'5", but I have a small-ish waist. They're great for track, but when it comes to shopping for jeans it isn't the most fun. Has anybody found a brand that isn't "long and lean" or doesn't have folds and folds of extra fabric around the waist? Thanks!

Hi gcb...welcome to the club! I've struggled with this for years because like you, my waist is relatively narrow and my thighs are quite muscular. I don't seem to have much problem finding jeans these days, since there is so much more variety. It'l be interesting this season though with the return of the "skinny jeans". I tend to buy flared jeans which seem to help balance the look of my larger thighs. I have to admit that all of my jeans are snug in the thigh, I've just gotten used to that. Try looking in stores like Jacob or Smart Set(may be Canadian only), but stores that sell women's clothing aimed more at career clothing. They seem to carry more styles to fit our figures! Good Luck.

I'm right there with you, my thighs are a good 2" larger than my hips. I find the Suzy Shier Modern Fit pants are great. I don't get that extra 3" of material at the waist, and my legs usually fit pretty well.

Hey girls, I have had that problem since I was in Jr high. I used to be a gymnast and I now show horses and ride quite a bit as well as train at the gym. I have found that Aeropostale 's stretch jeans usually fit. You have to try them on, because they all fit different, but feel for the lighter fabrics as they usually offer more stretch. Also, if you time it right you can get them on sale several times throughout the year.

Oh my goodness what terrible times we live in, where women with nice legs can't find good jeans, lol. :)

My Catahoula did it.

I saw a book titled "Sex for Dummies" and wondered why
anyone would teach dumb people how to reproduce?

For guys having this problem (as I am yet to meet a powerlifter that doesn't have exceptionally big thighs for their waist size) Old Navy and Express seem to be two of the best..

The Gap works for me. I have difficult with most jeans. It not that I can't fit into them, but I like to be able to put things in my pocket.
