I used to work out a few years ago but stopped. I restarted today and my shoulders popped when I was on an incline machine. Kind of a cracking sound. It hurt a bit but I kept at it thinking it would go away.
Am I hearing this noise because I haven't really done any lifting for a while or do I need to see an MD?

This is fairly commonplace. There are a few things you can do to help overcome it.
Take some glucosamine. It's a great joint supplement.
Stretch. Lack of stretching or flexibility may be causing the problem.
Switch to a different exercise. The body may react better to some things than others.
It's probably not a cause for concern unless the pain becomes bothersome. Even still, the above things are worth doing regardless.

Popping is normal for some of us. Popping accompanied by pain is bad and needs to be checked out. Welcome to FT. Keep asking questions and fill out your profile. It helps us to help you.

well a few questions..... are u warmed up properly?
do u have good form?cause an incline pres should have nothing much to do with ur shoulders try varying ur grips
are u steretched and loosened up?
and if u are on a machine i do have to say some of them put me in weird posistions and make my joints hurt too, and i don't usually have probles with them so if the machine put a weird presure point on a joint i make a middle note not to use that one no more, cause unfortunally most machines are desigened fro the avarage individual, which i think is like 5'10 150lbs maybe? they do have a lot of adjustments and junk but still the range of motion is the same
