OK, i understand; yet i'm confused. i'm confused on how much wieght to start out with. i lift an 11lb baby all day long, plus i have a 30lb toddler (i dont lift her very often, but often enough that she doesnt feel heavy). should i still start at 5 or 8 lbs? i understand that when i lift the baby i'm not doing it in reps either.(funny picture in my head) i guess my question is how do you know what wieght is the best wieght for you to start. i understand if it's too easy move up, but what if it's still easy the next step up, even though it's not so easy you feel like you're throwing the wieghts? ok i think i'm done babbling out a question.

You just have to experiment. Everybody is different. It won't take but a few workouts to dial it in. Good luck and welcome here.

It's a funny picture in your head, but it looks even funnier when you do it. My kids both loved being Daddy's curl bar. I would grab them under the tricep-armpit and curl them, giving them a little kiss on the nose, a little spurt of air, or some baby noise (booga-booga-booga was the favorite) with each rep. Eventually, they got too big to curl, so I stopped. Now they want to use me as their jungle gym.

thanks for the advice and the welcome, charlie. i'm still working out the kinks in the wieght lifting dept.
jonathan, i had a step dad once and he would do the arm curl with us as well as a bench press. it was just as fun for us as it was for him i think. its good that you play with your kids. that's one of the many traits i love about my hubby.
