Unfortunately, over the last few decades, the terms "calories" and "Kcalories" in regards to food have become one in the same. They are actually two different terms of measurement; but, when it comes to food, Kcals is the correct form. However, people didnt like the fact of dealing with 1000 calories, so, the K had been dropped in order to make "discussion" easier.
