OK... anyone that has checked out my ft bio knows that I am a big time WWF fan. Anyway... I found out that there's a local "farm league" pro wrestling group. I also found out that they have a school!
Basically... to break into the pro wrestling biz, one needs to be trained. You hafta learn how to take falls without getting too hurt, as well as how to pull off other stuff without seriously hurting anyone.
I dunno why I am telling you guys, I'm sure you could care less. I'm also betting that you guys think I'm a nut.
Anyway... you guys think I should go for it?

you probably have to be like really big or have some wacky attitude to get somebody like Vince Mcmann convinced that you can make those hungry fans for ***kicking exited

LOL.
Well... The WWF is a long way down the road if I were to get into the biz.
To answer your question, Anheeto... there's really only 2 things stopping me: the Navy, and my wife! I think I could wok around the Navy... convincing the wife to let me do it will be harde than the school itself! She's afraid I'll get seriously injured. What happened to Owen Hart in '98 is still imprinted on her mind.

By "local" I mean in my area... which is Honolulu, HI. I dunno what the turnover is. I do know that they have shows about an hour away from here every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
The promoter is actually a partnership between two sanctioning bodies: IXWF (Island eXtreme Wrestling Federation) and NWA-Hawaii (National Wrestlin Alliance - Hawaii).
The research I have done so far has revealed that the IXWF is fairly new, but the NWA spans the entire country. It turns out that there is actually a branch of the NWA in Indianapolis where I am from!
I figure if I can get this school, and get my foot in the door here in Hawaii... then when I get out of the Navy, I can move into the Indianapolis pro wrestling scene!

First, most of what you see is for show although the risks are still high. I think you need an awesome sense of serious humor (drama). On a serious note, to help you with falling technique there is nothing better than Karate. Karate will also help with close contact sport with less risk. Then, you can take it from there. You might maybe able to get into the stunt circut for some great experience and knowledge.

Nah... after watching the IXWF/NWA-H on TV a few times, the guys are not that big. Listening to some of the weights when the announce the wrestlers.. I am bigger than most of them. I'll be alright with my current plan.
As for the falls... I have a little martial arts behind me, so I will draw on that a little.
Thanks for everyones input and support! You guys rock. The guys in my car club think I'm a fruit cake for wanting to do this!
