Find a strength coach that is willing to correct teach you correct form. I spent about three months learning proper form and practicing before I started adding weight to my squat. And even then, a year later, it wasn't until Coach Jeff Sellers (1987 APF World Record Holder in the squat and certified Olympic Weight lifting coach) visited, watched me squat, and showed me all the finer points I was missing that I really started to make gains. On his coaching my ORM went up 20lbs in one workout, all by correcting my form, and my legs felt better afterwards.
