I have a weight bench and barbells and want to get stareted with those. However I do not have some of the equipment for the exercises listed in my plan. Are there substitute exercises?

For example: I do not have dumbells. Are there alternate exercises to work the same muscles as in th curls?

I also do not have a chin-up bar. Are there alternatives for these.

I'd like to join a gym at some point; however, I need to work it into the budget.

Any hints or suggestions?

Thanks!

Instead of dumbells, use milk jugs filled with water or sand... paint cans... might make you feel as though you look silly, but it works...

Instead of chinups, try the 'chins between chairs' exercise or as some others call them 'reverse pushups.' Bent over BB rows are good too...

Instead of chins do rows. Barbell curls are fine as an alternative to dumbbell curls.

Thigh curls there aren't a lot of home alternatives but it's not as essential an area to work anyway. Can always run short distances, which will work the legs.
