Okay, i have a couple of questions..and i thought it would be best to ask women these questions.

First) Shaving is a PAIN in the arse. Do women use electric razors, or regular razors, or a combination of both (electric for a quick shave, regular to get the fine tuning). (i shave my arms and legs every other day just about)

Second) I am possibly the whitest shade of white i've seen on a person yet (understatement, heres better way of putting it: turn off the lights, and i glow :) gotta love being scottish/irish ). How should i go about changing this since i know women like a man with some color.

Third) I got ROYALLY sunburned yesterday at the Boston Marathon...how should i go about treating this so i don't peel like a mug...and whats a good lotion to use cause this ish hurts.

i know i have more, but i lost them in the process of writing the others....but thanks for any help in advance

well tex,

1) i use a shick xtreme 3 for sensitive skin every time i shave (although i usually wax because like you i think that shaving is a pain in the arse). it's a man's razor, but good for the legs and i would think the arms as well.

2) if you're as white as you say you are, chances are you've got pretty fair skin which means you won't add color easily. it's better to be safe than sorry here because you don't want to end up with skin cancer trying to attract the ladies. i say if a woman really wants to go out with you she's not going to care if you look more like Powder than Mr. Hawaiian Tropic, but if you're really concerned about it, there are a lot of sunless bronzers out there.

3) as for your sunburn, ALOE, ALOE, ALOE. this will keep as much moisture in your skin as possible and keep it from drying out as much and peeling. try to get the kind without dyes and fragrance, it is softer on the skin. take care of that burn and wear more sunscreen next time!

hope this helps tex!

I use a venus razor and lots of shaving cream i shave my arms, too.

Try one of the spraybooth tanning slons and avoid the burning and cancer risk, or have a gal friend help you get a smooth coat of coppertone tanning or similar product. Irish/Scotish boys are handsome because their hair is such a contrast from their fair skin. Not all girls like darker toned skin.

And second on the aloe aloe aloe, there are even some sunburn specific formulas that have a little topical anagelsic in them.

While you are at the drugstore stocking up on cream, lotions, razors, etc, buy some decent sunscreen and a baseball cap with a brim on it to protect your beautiful irish/Scottish skin!

Gillette Mach III Turbo for me, it's also a man's razor. Umm, I'm not sure what part of your body this relates to, but I use this on legs and underarms, waxing for the more important stuff.

As far as tanning, I am also very fair. You need to start slow, early in the spring when it is warm but not hot. You risk burning easily and the spring sun is just going to be easier on you. Not more than an hour a day and inside by 1pm. I did this last summer and I got a beautiful tan.

Moisturizers for post tan and everyday, I use Neutrogena body lotion with sesame oil. It feels great and it's not greasy. I also use Neutrogena body oil after my showers. You can't be too soft. Okay, I can't be too soft.

You must not allow yourself to burn. The aloe really is your best bet and you are probably going to peel anyway.

got to disagree with the sun tan advice. Either use bronzer or don't bother.
Personally I love the pale skin/dark hair combo but if you must get a tan be careful.
I won't bore you all with the story about my brother's cured melanoma or my friend who died from it aged 28, just think about what you're doing first
I hate to sound like a school teacher but that goes for you too anni313!

haha yeah...the boston marathon was a mistake, im normally all over the sunscreen (esp on the tattoos bc i don't want them fading (bullfrog SPF70 <nicknamed ozone> keeps the tattoos safe)) We were gonna go play ball and frisbee for one hour so i grabbed a tank top and ran.....yeah...mistake...they decided they wanted to watch the marathon for 6 hrs. So i'm sitting here with a burn that makes me look like im constantly wearing my white tank top with the exception of the tattoos.

My face looks fine, had a ballcap on the entire time.

Welp, thanks again for the advice...i just may go for the fair skin/dark hair look...seems easiest ;)

must.....find......ALOE

1. bush whack.

2. tanning bed at LOW times with the lotions that contain the sunscreen that blocks the burning rays but not the bronzing rays. (SPF 4)

2. moderate SPF everytime you are in the sun.

3. mix vineager and cool water, soak a rag in this and place on the burn..do not go close to others until you have showered...and follow with aloe vera, pure from the plant if you can get it that way.

Asimmer....wax your arms, doesn't hurt that much, lasts much longer and no stubble as the hair will grow back in it's normal state!

1. Mach 3 razor in the shower
2. Bronzer or nothing. Pale isn't all that bad and much better than skin cancer
3. Aloe

And I don't think there is such a thing as a safe tan - no matter how low or what sunscreen you use, sorry.

Umm, waxing kinda scares me...

i agree with asimmer on the no safe tan thing. it makes me glad i have olive skin and don't have to worry about it:)

waxing on the other hand...it's really not that bad. i've been doing my legs for more than a year now, and i can hardly even feel it anymore. you should try it a couple of times, you'd be surprised. same goes for you tex - it's much easier than shaving!
