Im a night person I get sooo hungry. I am about to begin the lose weight/ tone up program (female, 5"2, 115lbs) and I just read that carbs are bad late at night, which Im definitly not used to! At this time of night, should I avoid breakfast foods like cereal and oatmeal? If so, what DO you recommend I eat? ....help!

I have the same problem. I am probably the worst late night snacker you'll ever meet. I used to consume about 75% of my calories for the day after 7 pm. I've improved vastly. I plan my meals so that I have one at 6 pm, and another at 9 pm. Egg white omelettes, cold shrimps, cottage cheese, tuna, sandwich meat wrapped around a pickle.. those are some of my favorite 9 pm mini meals. they are high in protein so I can implement the food into my body while I sleep. If I get hungry later, I just eat more of the same thing, but try to keep it down if at all possible, or better yet, hold off til morning. I also like to sip on fat free chicken broth at night, sometimes I add onion to make an "onion soup"...basically it's just sodium and minute amounts of carbs.
Well, that's what works for me.

I'm not an expert, but if you have a serious craving, chances are your body needs something. If it's cereal you're always craving, maybe it's not something in the cereal, but the milk.
Anyway, fudge pops are about 45 calories. Diet Pepsi, 0 calories. A protein shake will make you feel full and should help curb the cravings. Avoid chips, cereal, bagels, etc if you can. Another nice, filling snack that's low cal, low fat, low carb, high protein is beef jerky. Keep some around.
If you're eating for emotional reasons, it's beyond the scope of my advice. I eat in front of the tv late at night...it's completely emotional and has little to do with hunger, so I have to be careful.
Also, take a day off a week and eat whatever you want. My days are Fridays usually; last night I had 12 white castle cheeseburgers and 10 fudge pops...still, my daily calorie intake only went a little over 3,200 calories. Normally, it's under 2,150. This will also make you body believe that you aren't trying to deprive it, and it'll be less likely to go into fat-storage, slow metabolism mode.
Good luck.
