im 23 and fat. i could probably sit here and type a lot of excuses, but at this point im ready to make a change.

im at the largest i have ever been: 280. ( so easy to admit to total strangers, online.)

i eat when im bored, and over do it at that. plus i have a back injury, so i dont get a whole lot of exersize.

i have a herniated disk in my back, which makes vigerous exersize not an option. i know being active is a large part of losing weight, so im up for any suggestions of exersizes that do not strain the spinal cord.

i need to lose weight. i feel so unhealth and i am. i just stumbled on this website and forum so im not too sure as to what to expect.

i have tried to lose weight on my own, but my attempts last a few days and then i get discouraged.

help.

So glad that you are here, and are making an effort to change your life. You will find lots of support and information on this site, so feel free to ask lots of questions and post when you want to. I would suggest setting up a fitness program here at FT, and customize it for your back. I believe you have the option to click on that says "back injury" or something of the sort. Also, set up your nutrition plan as well. It will help for you to sort out your diet. Like I said before, feel free to ask questions, and we are all happy you are here!! Welcome to FT!!! :dumbbell:

Hello rypolar and welcome! You stumbled onto a very informative, supportive site and hope you stay! I am 228 and much older than you, so I know the struggle, but you are soooooo much the wiser stating all you did, not making excuses as you said and just jumping on the fitness train for a healthier, happier you!

Keep coming back, read and post if you don't see something addressed. It is so important to have a good support system and between that and the great exercise and fitness programs you are off to a good start!

I have a friend that has terrible back difficulties, lying her up for days at a time, so I feel for you. She walks, when she can, and is watching her eating habits and has lost 20 pounds in a couple months.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy it here, I do!
