Hi, I just joined. About myself, I'm gonna be 30 in a couple of months, 150lbs, 5'7. My goal is to lose about 25lbs by my b-day, I just want to be lean and toned, not muscular, also to flatten my stomach, a 6-pack is not required. I also want to know how long I should be working out per day and what I need to eat. I get hungry every couple of hours. I just joined a gym so equipments are accesible to me. Any advice?

I have no suggestions for your getting down to 125 since I skipped that at 12 :) but no matter what your goals, you can meet them fairly well in 45 minute sessions. As for your getting hungry, if you browse around the site, you'll see that most of us are grazers. I eat something every couple hours. It takes some getting used to but it does work. I've been doing it so long I can't eat a big meal. Just figure your total required food intake and break it down to 4 to 6 meals. And Welcome to FT by the way.

You don't have to worry about being muscular. A lot of women use that as an excuse not to work out with weights. Just a suggestion but you need to have a profile or offer more info with your questions and they'll get answered. Since you didn't say when your b'day is it's hard to answer. Normally when you join a gym, they offer a couple of sessions with a personal trainer. They will usually set you up with a set of goals. Lacking that, sign up for one of the forums free workout plans. You need to weight train and cardio. The biggest thing is diet. Don't try and starve yourself but figure out your calorie needs and adjust up or down. Keep your weight sessions down to under 45 minutes. Most women that I know work out with weights for 30-40 minutes and finish with cardio. I like cardio on off days since 45 minutes of weights and I'm done, but thats your choice.
